一個中英口譯員的華麗大冒險

研究動機

一般人常常對口譯這個行業有著不切實際的憧憬與崇拜，或者對本人看似自由自在的工作生涯感到莫名的羨慕與嚮往。不過就工作的特性與生涯的規劃來看，同步口譯不過是一種等級大概介於水電工與律師之間的高級應召業。根據《牛津簡明字典》的記載，prostitute這個字的意思是「為了少許利益而出賣自己的尊嚴，或是將自己的能力用在卑賤的用途上。」應召業者出賣肉體如此，專業口譯員的工作也不遑多讓。在累積了多年的口譯工作經驗之後，在個人沉潛自省的過程當中，我赫然發覺自己所投身的事業竟然和應召業如此的相像。如果你不相信的話，以下我就分基本條件、工作特性、生涯規劃和未來展望等四部分逐一說明：

 關於口譯生涯

最近跟外文系的學弟/譯研所的學生一起接受台大畢業輔導組生涯電子報的採訪:
